A Fugitive Never Forgets

Jake had planned his escape from the zoo for months:

painstakingly fashioning a lock pick from a fork snuck out of the cafeteria,
street clothes cleverly stashed behind a bottom shelf in a dark corner of the library—they had cost him two packs of peanuts,
at the precisely calculated time, knocking the laundry truck driver over the head, poor devil—and calmly, cooly driving right on out.

Free! Jake couldn't help but smile. To the border!
